Logbook Service & Written Inspection Report · Oakleigh South

A Hyundai Kona logbook service at 44,563 km, with every reading written down

Hyundai Kona logbook service in Oakleigh South at 44,563 km: oil and filter changed; tyres, brakes, suspension, underbody and both air filters checked; and a written report — tyres 3 mm, brake pads 50–60%, battery health 92%.

This Hyundai Kona came in at 44,563 km for its logbook service. The engine oil and oil filter were changed, and the car went up on the hoist so the rest of it could be checked properly: tyres and brake pads measured at each corner, suspension, steering and underbody inspected, both air filters taken out, and the brake fluid and battery tested. Engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes and electronics were checked before and after a test drive. Every reading went onto a written report the owner takes away, and the next service is due at 53,000 km or in August 2027.

Every reading, written down

What the service checked, and what it found.

01

The written report, line by line

Engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes and electronics are each checked twice — before a test drive, and again after it, once the car is warm and has been driven. The stereo and air-conditioning are checked as well. On this Kona every item passed. The report records the odometer, the date and when the next service is due. It is a visual inspection with diagnostic (OBD) readings and a road test, not a warranty: what it gives the owner is a dated record of the car's condition.

02

Tyres and brake pads, measured at every corner

Tread depth was 3 mm on all four tyres. Brake pads were at 50% on the front axle and 60% on the rear. They are recorded as numbers rather than a tick, so at the next service the owner can see how quickly they are wearing and plan for tyres or pads before either becomes urgent.

03

Brake fluid and battery, tested with a meter

Brake fluid draws in moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point, so it is tested rather than judged by its colour. On this car it read 1.4% water. The battery showed 92% state of health and 87% charge, and was rated good.

04

On the hoist: suspension, underbody and filters

With the car raised, the front control arms, driveshaft boots and brake calipers were inspected, then the rear springs, shock absorbers and calipers, then the exhaust, fuel tank and heat shields underneath. Both the engine air filter and the cabin filter were taken out to see how much they had collected.

05

Oil and filter

The old oil was drained from the sump and the old filter taken off. A new filter went on, and the engine was refilled with fresh oil that meets the manufacturer's specification.

06

The same service every car we sell gets

C1 sells used cars as well as servicing them, and every car we sell is serviced and inspected like this in our own workshop before it is handed over. Anything borderline — brakes or tyres near the end of their life — is replaced rather than passed on to the buyer. Bring in a car you already own and it gets the same service.
