We install front, rear and hardwired dash cams for Melbourne drivers. Dash cam installation done cleanly.
We have been installing vehicle electronics and practical car upgrades since 2018. A good dash cam installation should not leave loose cables hanging around the windscreen or interfere with the driver's view. For hardwired setups, correct fuse selection reduces the risk of avoidable battery drain — we confirm the right approach for your vehicle before starting.
We focus on clean cable routing, suitable placement and basic function testing before handover.

1-year workmanship warranty on eligible installations.
Eligible dash cam installation work completed by C1 Automotive is covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty. Product warranty depends on the dash cam brand and supplier, especially when the unit is supplied by the customer. Before handover, we do a basic function test to confirm the camera is recording and the wiring is correct. Your Australian Consumer Law rights continue to apply.
Dash cam questions.
- What is the difference between a hardwired and plug-in dash cam installation?
- A plug-in setup draws power from the cigarette lighter socket and leaves a visible cable running to the windscreen. A hardwired installation routes power from the fuse box, so there are no loose cables and the socket stays free. Hardwiring is also required for parking mode on most dash cams.
- Can you install both a front and rear dash cam?
- Yes. We route the rear camera cable through the headliner and pillars to keep it out of sight. Routing time depends on whether the car is a hatch, sedan or SUV — send us your vehicle type and dash cam model for a combined quote.
- Can my dash cam record while the car is parked?
- Parking mode recording requires the dash cam to support it and a hardwire kit with a constant live feed. We set this up correctly to reduce the risk of draining the battery — though we cannot guarantee any specific battery outcome, as that depends on the car and how long it sits parked.
- Can you install a dash cam I have already purchased?
- Yes. We can assess and install customer-supplied dash cams. Send us the model details before booking so we can confirm what is involved.
- How long does dash cam installation take?
- A front-only dash cam installation typically takes around an hour. A front-and-rear hardwired setup takes longer, depending on the vehicle body type and trim.
